My iPod has stopped playing music via USB on my car

Question: My ipod has stopped playing music via a usb on my car checked all the usual leads, connection etc ipod plays fine on its own or via headphones but does not play via usb in car also cannot play it on computor (computor is new from when I last downloaded them to iPod). Any ideas?
