My Sony Xperia is frozen – how do I unlock it?

Question: How do I unfreeze my Sony Xperia Z1 phone? I’ve tried turning it off but nothing happens. I’ve tried taking the sim card out but that didn’t help either.

Answer: Try holding both the power button and volume up button at the same time, until the phone gives you three short vibrations. Then it will turn off, and you should be able to start it up again.
