How to export your LinkedIn contacts

LinkedIn is a great place to find a job, stay connected with your current and former coworkers, and also to learn about the people you're working with (or selling to).

LinkedIn gives you full control of the data it stores on your behalf, including the ability to download a copy of all of your contacts.

Here's a short video that shows you how to get a copy of your LinkedIn contacts and put them into Excel where you can sort or filter to find specific contacts.

The steps are as follows:

1. Click the dropdown arrow on your "Me" button in LinkedIn and then click "Settings & Privacy".

2. Scroll down to the section called "How LinkedIn uses your data".

3. Click "Getting a copy of your data".

4. Choose "Connections" and click the "Request a copy" button.

It will take about 10 minutes for your download to be ready, and once downloaded you can open the file in Excel to sort and filter to your heart's content.
